Tom Hamilton, Associate Professor in Early Modern European History at Durham University, UK and fellow of the Max Weber Centre in summer 2024, took part in the 87th Steiger (spring) run in Erfurt. They met on 21 April 2024 in Erfurt, Am Reitplatz. The race comprises several parts and always takes place in spring. In the main race, the children’s races and the Bambini race, there is an individual classification according to the DLV age group classification with an award ceremony for places one to three. The first three male and first three female runners are honoured in both the amateur run and the walking race. Tom took part in the 13km main run. He finished in under an hour, taking 1st place in the men’s 35 age group and 2nd place (of the men) overall. We congratulate him on his successful participation.
